Who are we?

Mickey Haynes
Founder, CEO

Mickey Haynes has 25 years of experience developing mobile, embedded, and IoT solutions for clients in a wide variety of industries.  Prior to founding m1E in 2015, he was Global VP of Mobile and IoT Solutions in Retail at SAP where he developed a global reputation for having the business and technical acumen to deliver working, high-ROI solutions.  Prior to SAP, he was Enterprise Architect for Mobile at The Home Depot, where he led the development of the first Home Depot mobile app and many of Home Depot’s internal mobile applications for sales associates. Prior to Home Depot, he was a Chief or Lead Architect at a variety of companies who were focused on mobile and IoT such as Stratix, Symbol (now Zebra), Retailigent and Microsoft (as a consultant).

Mickey is a 1993 graduate from the University of Georgia, where he majored in International Business and minored in French.  He also played football and baseball at UGA and was a member of the 1990 National Champion baseball team.  He lives in the Atlanta area with his wife, Tiffany, and four children.  If he is not in the office, he’s probably doing something on the water or in the garden.

Dan Homrich
Managing Partner, North America

Dan Homrich is Managing Partner, North America, responsible for growing the business for m1E Solutions in the US and Canada. Dan brings innovative solutions to complex and challenging problems. By leveraging his rich mobile experience of 25 years and orchestrating a teams of industry, functional and technical experts, Dan’s teams have crafted compelling value propositions for customers.

Prior to m1E, Dan was the EVP Product Management for StarMobile, Inc. (now PowWow Mobile), delivering mobile solutions globally. Prior to StarMobile, Dan was founder and CEO of SmartSoft Mobile Solutions, which he started with the express purpose of mobilizing the enterprise. VC backed Mobiquity acquired SmartSoft in July 2012.

Previously, Dan has helped bring usable technology to the forefront through his roles as CTO, CIO and VP of Development at companies including Stratix Corporation, Cox Communications, MedQuist division of Philips, American Software and Utility Partners.

When Dan’s not trying to connect something new to the Internet, he’s trying to connect a fish to the end of one of his deep-sea fishing rods. Dan travels between Atlanta and Fort Walton Beach spending time with his family whenever possible.  He’s been married for 31 years to Helen, and together they’ve raised 4 awesome children.

Dan Phinney
Head of Device Engineering

Dan Phinney leads Device Engineering for m1E Solutions where he develops custom IoT devices by managing teams of electrical and mechanical engineers. He is an expert in energy harvesting and storage and holds 19 patents. Dan is Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering and Audio Music Engineering at the University of Rochester.

Prior to joining m1E Solutions, Dan was Electrical Engineering Manager at Kodak and Kodak Alaris for more than 20 years where he led R&D teams to develop audio and imaging based document analysis for high performance scanners.  Dan holds a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Patrick White
Creative Director

As Creative Director, Patrick White brings over 10 years of creative design experience to m1E Solutions. Patrick is a multifaceted designer with experience creating solutions for enterprise web and mobile, as well as collaborating closely with marketing leadership to support go to market strategies. A seasoned visual designer, Patrick is a highly creative and detail oriented creative lead.
